Baby, the Stars Shine Bright is known for their classically sweet looks and has been a leading force in the Gothic Lolita world since its creation. Founded in 1988 by Akinori and Fumiyo Isobe, Baby, The Stars Shine Bright has been featured in almost every Lolita publication, including the Gothic Lolita Bible,Kera,Fruits. Alice and the Pirates was created from Baby, the Stars Shine Bright in 2004. The darker, bolder aesthetic features punk, goth, and Lolita themes with a nautical undertone. Alice and the Pirates will also be returning for our 2016 PMX Fashion Boutique, and both brands will have items exclusive to overseas events. Her continuum of work includes illustration, comics, clothing, and merchandise, and to top it all of, her own video game which is currently in production. Her imagery and context are based off Japanese-manga subculture and is embraced by both Japanese and American fans. She wants you to know that even in this world where you are told to stop watching cartoons and grow up, told that anime isn’t real art and games are only for the lazy, told that you have to pretend to be someone else to be accepted; and where dreams are carefully crafted and then revealed to have a strict time limit, that it is possible to live by doing what you love.
Fickle Wish is LA’s brand new retail hub for Kawaii and Japanese street fashion. Fickle Wish specializes in carrying accessories by Japanese indie artisans on consignment as well as a carefully curated selection of clothing from various Japanese indie brands. They hope to become a new haven for local lovers of all things kawaii. There are 2 locations in Osaka as well, they utilize their Japanese presence to bridge the gap between the J-fashion community in both the US and Japan. The Lolita Collective represents over 70 fashion designers from around the world. The Collective attends conventions all over the States and occasionally overseas, bringing with them an inventory of independently designed fine apparel, accessories, and jewelry.
